VERNIUM LEVEL 4410

VERNIUM LEVEL 4410

Dyeing Auxiliaries — Protective Colloid

Improves the quality and reproducibility of virtually every textile wet process.

Characteristics

  • Highly efficient dispersant for insoluble and sparingly soluble calcium salts, pectins and other impurities such as cotton linters.
  • No de-metalizing effect on dyestuff; improves penetration and distribution of the dye liquor.
  • Eliminates problems from re-deposition of calcium silicate and other crystalline impurities onto yarn or fabric.
  • Inhibits formation of insoluble derivatives of vat dyestuff.
  • Good dispersing properties with reactive and direct dyes.
  • Improves dispersion in reduction clearing baths; bio-eliminable and phosphate free.
  • Low-viscosity liquid.

Benefits

  • Prevents build-up on machine surfaces and fibre being processed; liquor stability is vastly improved.
  • Improved levelling and reproducibility.
  • Improved handle and subsequent winding or sewing properties.
  • Improved dyeability, higher colour yield and enhanced rubbing fastness.
  • Prevents re-deposition of degraded dyestuff; not toxic or harmful to aquatic organisms.
  • Easy to handle and soluble in water in all proportions.

Specifications

  • Chemical constitution: Sodium salt of a polyacrylic acid
  • Ionic nature: Anionic
  • Physical form: Colourless to pale yellow liquid
  • pH: About 7.5
  • Specific gravity at 20°C: About 1.3
  • General stability: Stable to hard water, pH 4–12.
  • Storage stability: Stable for more than one year at 20°C in closed containers; do not store above 40°C. Freezes at −5°C but recovers fully on warming.

Applications

Usage range typically 0.5–2 g/l. Effectively sequesters alkaline earth metal salts present in hard water without removing metal ions present in some dyes; the concentration required depends on water hardness and typically falls within 0.5–2 g/l.

Packing

This product is supplied in HDPE drums of 50 kg and 200 kg net.

Storage and Handling

Stable for more than one year at 20°C in closed containers. Do not store above 40°C. Freezes at −5°C but recovers fully on warming.
